The Music Man

Description

Typed script for act 2, scene 9 of Meredith Willson's The Music Man, part of a very early draft of the musical. In the River City High School assembly room, Eulaly Breen leads a performance of "River City Go." George Breen then reveals Harold Hill's false credentials and questions the professor about the boys' band. Marion Maddy and Harold play Jim Paroo's composition on the piano roll. It is also revealed that Harold used the money from the sales of Gramma Bird's song to purchase the band uniforms, both of which redeem the professor. Musical numbers in this scene include a reprise of "River City Go," "Minuet in G," and "Till I Met You."
