About

The Great American Songbook Foundation is dedicated to preserving influential American popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century. The foundation's headquarters houses a vast collection of compositions, recordings, scrapbooks, correspondence, and photographs from the archives of performers and composers whose work is included in the American Songbook. This site highlights a portion of the collection of songwriter, playwright and lyricist Meredith Willson. As funding becomes available, the foundation plans to create digital versions of all of Willson’s archives, as well as those of other prominent American Songbook contributors.
